Before key decisions are fixed
System choices, material selections and façade geometry affect more than appearance. Discussing these choices while the design can still evolve helps the team consider performance, budget and construction practicality together.
At procurement and construction stages
If a project is already approaching tender or construction, define the immediate review needs: specifications, contractor proposals, drawings, materials or fabrication and site quality checks. The appointment should state who makes decisions and what the consultant is asked to review.
What to bring to the first discussion
A project location, current design stage, outline drawings and the decisions facing your team are a useful starting point. Tell the consultant whether the appointment is from an owner, architect, main contractor or façade contractor.
The appropriate scope and requirements depend on the particular project and appointment.
